Our incoming kindergarten orientation is scheduled for Tuesday, January 31 at 6 p.m. If you have a child that will be attending kindergarten in September, please plan to attend this orientation. Registration packets will be available at the meeting or you may call the school office (923-6411) to have a packet sent to your home.

- Now that the weather has changed, please have your student dressed (coat, hat, mittens) for outside recess. We will go outside everyday unless it is raining or below 10 degrees. Please put your child’s name in all outerwear .
Carpenter Street School one of 123 schools named “Beating the Odds”
The State of Michigan recently recognized Carpenter Street School as a 2011“Beating the Odds” school. This recognition is given to a few schools across the state of Michigan that meet the following criteria; a) schools that perform above predicted levels based on risk factors, b) schools performing above a comparison group of the most demographically similar schools in the state. This is an honor that only two elementary schools in the region were rewarded. The state’s recent recognition is a direct reflection of the daily efforts and achievements our staff, students, parents and community exhibit at Carpenter Street School.
